Astrology

The following is a brief summary of the Astrology system used by Senji in his art to predict the future. In drawing up a chart, Senji can either use the specific dates related to an individual to determine what is in store for them or look at the heavens and the position of the various planetary bodies to get a more general idea of what the future holds.

The Planets & Astrological Bodies

By placing the position of the following bodies, a lot can be discovered about the future.

image.jpg Sun – The the largest and closest body, it can have great influence. The sun can indicate the immediate future or the beginning of something new.

image.jpg Luna – The larger of the two moons. It is often the brighter moon. Luna can indicate longer term destinies in the distant futures.

image.jpg Lumni – The smaller of the moons, it is often hidden in the shadow of it’s larger sister. Lumni often indicates warning of possible dangers in the coming future.

image.jpg Telum – A small yellowish orange planet closest to the sun. It moves quickly and is often an indicator of coming news (good or bad) associated with the sign it passes through.

image.jpg Jann – A huge planetary body that moves slowly in the space between Telum and our own planet. Jann can represent obstacles that may block the future.

image.jpg Barsoon – Our nearest neighbor, this red planet brings portents of conflict or war. It it typically considers a bad thing when this crosses your path.

image.jpg Akrys – This pale planet sits just past Barsoon. Unlike the closer planet, Akrys brings portents of romance and passion.

image.jpg Wynn – Further out lies Wynn, a brownish planet that moves slowly but can signal changes in wealth or status for the signs it crosses. Note that this is not always a positive change.

image.jpg Prothean – At the edge of our system lies a small dark planet that is often hard to detect. It moves slowly and may not be visible for long stretches. This planet often indicates an ending.

image.jpg Imani – Beyond our system, there is a vast void, but there is also the bright light of the closest star. When the star of Imani enters a chart, it can indicate something strange or mysterious.

Position

The position of a sigh on the star chart determines how mutable or subject to change a sign is.

image.jpg The signs that lie along the horizontal axis of the chart are considered fixed. Fixed signs tend to be very constant and reliable. Forces like life and death or the power of creation or leadership will typically always exist. Fixed signs can symbolize resistance to change but also suggest great willpower.

image.jpg Conversely, the signs that border the vertical axis are considered cardinal. Cardinal signs are action oriented. These signs tend to be filled with vitality and prone to action over rest. Those with cardinal signs tend to have greater initiative.

image.jpg Finally the signs that do not lie against either axis and are between a fixed and cardinal sign are the mutable signs. Mutable signs signify change and instability. Visions and war can change at any minute and are therefore mutable. Those with a mutable sign are often considered very adaptable.

Elements

The quadrant in which the sign lies determines the element of the sign. The element of the sign often helps further define the personality of the group of signs.

image.jpg Air – The element of air lends a degree of mystery, the unknown, and even faith. Hard to grasp and and difficult to see clearly, the influence of air is often felt rather than observed by those influenced by this group of signs.

image.jpg Earth – The element of earth can range from the drive to express ones self to emersion in the material world or even cautious practicality. The earth is solid and stable but also houses wild nature.

image.jpg Fire – The element of fire can signify communication, socialization, and enthusiasm. Just as fire once bound the original civilizations, it still encourages communion and interaction with others, even through conflict.

image.jpg Water – The element of water is associated with deep emotions, greater empathy, and a degree of sensitivity. Water is often considered the core of life and ties in closely with nature and the element of earth.
